A Sign-up page where people can opt-in to receive whichever E-mail notifications they choose out of several options, such as:
new blog posts, New product pages, New purchase options, New Site Categories, All, etc.

They can also choose the frequency in which they want to receive Email Notifications.
Ex: Immediately, once a week, Bi-Weekly, or Monthly (and maybe select frequency per option (?) ).

It would be nice to have the option to display links on other pages, like home, category, product, and blog pages that would direct anyone interested to the Newsletter sign up page.

Also having the ability to generate a QR code that links to the sign-up page would be a nice feature.

I was planning on keeping it simple on the frequency of notifications. One notification when something they are subscribed to gets an update, whenever the app sends outstanding notifications (once a day at midnight or whatever). Most sites don't get updated that frequently, and it keeps the scheduling logic of the app very simple. The user can control the frequency of notifications by choosing what they want to be notified about. Does that work for you?
