As an alternative to a slideshow or single static media like an image or video, offer Gallery as an option in the Media Type select/drop down. The user would upload images or videos and they would be displayed in rows in whatever container the layout provided for. The site visitor could click to enlarge the images, or make the videos fullscreen. This would add a simple way to have a whole page of images, or videos that can be chosen from quicker, or more intuitively, than a slideshow.
